About Goan Cafe N Resort

Goan Cafe N Resort — also known as Goan Café Beach Resort — is a family-run resort on Morjim Beach in Pernem, North Goa. It was started in 1996 by Augustine Lobo, a local fisherman who supported his family through hard work and prayer. What began as a tiny beach café has grown into a resort of tree huts, cottages, sea-view rooms and studio apartments, still run by the Lobo family today.

Our story

In 1996 Morjim was a quiet fishing village with few visitors. Augustine Lobo opened a small café on the beach — one guest remembers “just one table and three chairs and a good kitchen.” Travellers came for the food and stayed for the family’s kindness. Year by year, a few rooms became tree huts and beach cottages, then a pool, a restaurant and, more recently, wooden chalets and studio apartments.

We are not a chain. The people who greet you, cook for you and help plan your days are family, or have worked with us for years. Many guests from the UK, Russia, France, Italy and the USA have returned for decades and describe the Lobo family as their own. That warmth is the thing we are proudest of.
