NORTH GOA
Discover North Goa
Golden beaches, hilltop forts, night markets and quiet fishing villages.
North Goa is the most visited part of India’s smallest state — and for good reason. Its coastline runs from Sinquerim and Candolim up to Querim and Tiracol, with lively party beaches in the south and peaceful village beaches like Morjim, Ashwem and Mandrem in the far north (Pernem).
Two sides of North Goa
The stretch from Candolim to Baga and Anjuna is busy, with nightlife, clubs and water sports. North of the Chapora River, in Pernem, the pace changes: Morjim, Ashwem, Mandrem, Arambol and Querim are calmer, cleaner and better for families, couples and long stays.
Highlights
- Chapora Fort and Vagator cliffs
- Anjuna Wednesday Flea Market and Arpora Saturday Night Market
- Mapusa Friday Market
- Fort Aguada and Sinquerim
- Tiracol Fort on the northern border
- Arambol sweet-water lake
- Panjim’s Fontainhas Latin Quarter

Why base yourself in Morjim
Morjim sits right between the two sides of North Goa. The beaches of Pernem are on your doorstep, and Vagator, Anjuna and Mapusa are a short drive across the Chapora bridge. Mopa airport is just 30 km away.
