Goa Travel Guide
Everything you need to plan your Goa holiday.
Goa is India’s smallest state and one of its most loved destinations — a mix of beaches, Portuguese heritage, Hindu temples, spice farms and a unique food culture. This guide covers the essentials.
North Goa or South Goa?
North Goa has more beaches, markets and nightlife, plus quieter northern villages like Morjim, Ashwem and Mandrem. South Goa is generally quieter with long, wide beaches and upmarket resorts. Many visitors split their time or base themselves in the north for easier access to Mopa airport.
Getting there
Goa has two airports: Manohar International (Mopa, GOX) in the north and Dabolim (GOI) in the south. The Konkan Railway stops at Pernem, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon and others. See how to reach Morjim.

When to visit
November to February is peak season; see best time to visit Goa.
Food and culture
Goan cuisine blends Konkani, Portuguese and Indian flavours: fish curry rice, xacuti, cafreal, vindaloo, sorpotel, bebinca and feni. Festivals include Christmas, Carnival, Shigmo and São João.
