Monsoon in Goa

From June to September the monsoon transforms Goa. Rain sweeps in from the sea, fields turn bright green and waterfalls come alive. It is quiet, romantic and great value.
What to expect
Heavy rain showers with sunny breaks. The sea is rough and swimming at beaches is not allowed; many beach shacks close for the season.
What to do
- Visit Dudhsagar and other waterfalls (check access)
- Celebrate São João on 24 June, when locals jump into wells and streams
- Enjoy monsoon walks and cosy cafés
- Swim in our pool, open all year
- Try Ayurvedic treatments, traditionally recommended in the monsoon
Safety
Stay out of the sea, avoid flooded roads and check weather alerts.
