MORJIM

Morjim Beach Guide

Local tips from a family who have lived on Morjim Beach for generations.

Morjim Beach is a long, wide beach in North Goa stretching north from the mouth of the Chapora River. Known for soft sand, gentle waves in season, spectacular sunsets and Olive Ridley turtle nesting, it is one of Goa’s most relaxing beaches.

Best time to visit Morjim Beach

November to March is ideal: dry, sunny days, calm sea and comfortable temperatures. October and April–May are quieter and warmer. During the monsoon (June to September) the sea is rough and swimming is not allowed, but the beach is beautiful for walks.

Swimming

The beach slopes gently and the water is usually calm in season. Swim near the lifeguard towers, follow the flags and avoid swimming after dark or after drinking alcohol. Currents can be stronger near the river mouth.
